i got these books in borders today. they are collections of short stories. i generally dislike short stories. i like novels that i can invest myself in as a reader, with characters who stay with me forever and ever afterward. but since the short story is basically an uncharted area of writing for me, i'm going to try and get into it in an effort to effectively write my own.

the second i picked up mostly 'cause they were on the buy one get one half off shelf =). but it seemed like something i'd be interested in. besides, it won a pulitzer prize.

so that's what's good.

i also got some clothes today and a cute jewelry box because i've always needed one.

my cat is trapped in the top drawer on my dresser. it's her own dumb fault for jumping in there when i was putting clothes away, so to be an ass i shut it so that it would only be open a crack. now i have the pleasure of hearing her whine and seeing a white paw grasp for freedom every now and then.

but i really don't want her to shit on my clothes, so i'm gonna let her out. muahaha.

anyway, today was nice. i went shopping twice today. once with renee and later with beth. i won't see bobby again until thursday. this weekend i want to drive out to meet up with tricia. i told her that we're going to covered bridge for pizza and socializing, and that troy can come if he wants to haha. i'm sick of not seeing my best friend. i guess that's what real jobs do to you.

which i've been thinking about lately. this time next year (hopefully!) i will be looking for a "real job". i plan on applying to mostly everywhere within an hour max from my hometown. i'm saving up so that as soon as i get a job that will pay me decent money, i'll be able to move into my own place. i'm so excited for this =D. my aunt works for an apartment building person and my sister told me that the studio apartments are really affordable, so i'll probably look into that when it's time.

but as far as a career goes, i feel like i know nothing. i'm actually considering reading my entire PWE handbook just to brush up.

the michele thomas french cds are fun. i know most of what is going on already as far as the vocabulary that is being introduced but he is definitely helping me structure it into sentences. yay!

what else is new. not much actually. my cat is is now pouting on the floor dejectedly with her head between her paws. bahaha
